God's grace??

Yesterday i went to Sai Baba temple. My parents,i think, have recently taken to Sai baba, which is alright but its just that i m not used to going to a temple where i don't get to ring the bells.yes,i do love ringing those bells and love the sound emanated from them(and no,you cannot compare them to the pizza-hut bell). This post however,is not about which temple i visited, its about how people behave differently in different environments.

Now this temple is tucked away in a shoddy lane which has no road to say,and everyone parks their car very haphazardly as there is no proper parking. The cars around our car were parked in such a way that we were not being able to take our car out.My father, who would generally get very bugged under such circumstances, for a change waited patiently in the car for the other drivers to come and move their cars.A man saw us sitting in the car and came jogging to his own car and started moving it and after seeing him the drivers of the other cars also came. And in two-three minutes we were able to take our car out.what really fascinated me was, first of all ,my father never sits in a parked car so patiently, and Secondly,i have never experienced people being so considerate about the other person not being able to take his car out,the general feeling being - me-first.
So, was it Sai baba, the temple or just the purity of the action of going to a temple that made people behave in such a accommodating and amiable way?

not letting go

Have you ever thought how a mobile phone sometime becomes such an integral part of your life, that when the time comes to change it, you hang on to it just like a dog hangs on to his bone? And no, its not because you can't buy another phone or because your phone is your life; its because a part of your life, a part of you is in that phone. and getting rid of it is like giving away a working body organ .
It may seem silly, but i personally feel that way and that is exactly why i have not changed my phone for the past two years and neither do i intend to until and unless my phone dies a natural death, just like my older phone - a beautiful black Nokia 6600( it fell a zillion times, received a million calls and finally caught a virus).
And its not just me, i know quite a few people who share such a bond with their phones and can't seem to get rid of them.
This habit of not being able to get separated from your phone is as fascinating as fascinating can get, displaying the complex, sometimes idiotic nature of man.

Ag

While doing chemistry at school, i really used to hate learing the chemical symbols, atomic numbers and values of the elements and compounds. While growing up i soon noticed and realised that there is one metal which really attracts me - Silver
  • Chemical symbol - Ag
  • Latin name - Argentum
  • Atomic number - 47
  • Has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity

Now, silver is something that will never go out of fashion. From a 6 to a 60 year old, anyone can wear it and look chic and fashionable. I feel that it adds a lot of panache and depth to ones look.

Silver, a precious metal, is not only used to make exquisite jewellery but also has several other uses

  • used for medicinal purposes
  • used in electrical contacts and conductors
  • used as a catalyst in chemical reactions
  • used in photographic films - Silver halides
  • used to make artefacts and utensils
  • also,used to garnish Indian sweets :)

One thing that i have definitely taken away from my chemical classes is Silver, something that will materially stay with me forever :))

Bubble wraps

Bubble wrap is a pliable transparent plastic material commonly used for packing fragile items.Regularly spaced, protruding air-filled hemispheres ("bubbles") provide cushioning for precious or breakable items.

this is what bubble wrap is according to the Wikipedia.to me its a lot more.the time we moved to our new house all the crystal and the china was bubble wrapped.i wasnt very old then but that's when i found the joys of bubble wrap.i, till today, dint know that this unique wrap was invented and introduced by two engineers Mr.Alfred Fieldind and Mr.Marc Chavvanes in 1957 under the company name Sealed Air.and hey!the company celebrated its 50th anniversary on 25th February,2010.Sealed Air operates in 52 countries and has more than 17,000 employees worldwide.

everytime i burst a bubble of the bubble wrap these things never came to my mind.bubble wrap is my stress buster,my friend who not only protects the china and the other sensitive articles of my house but also helps me pass my time without getting bored.
